WHO ARE WE?

APM is a non-profit association. Our main goal is to promote cultural exchange between contemporary artists worlwide. Born and settled in Portugal, APM was imagined and brought to life in 2013 by three visual artists - Flávio Caporali (Brazil/Peru), Inês Correia (Portugal) and Jorge Filipe Teixeira (Portugal) - guided by global philosophy: 'think globally, act locally.' It is our wish to construct a net of mutual support between our association and artists, as well as local and emerging galleries.

WHAT DO WE DO?

Our activity can be divided into the following components:

a) To provide support for worldwide initiatives with strong social and cultural intervention (eg: Kuychi Runa Association in Peru, dedicated to preserving art forms of Inca heritage);

b) To promote the artworks of contemporary artists, organizing exhibitions both nationally and internationally.

WHAT GUIDES US?

We are strongly united by the concept of Art as a medium for cultural and environmental awareness, a way of engaging with our surroundings. We believe contemporary art, whether painting, sculpture, street art or performance, does not lose its interventional purpose and has the ability to bring new perspectives on reality. In past projects, APM focused on the sea as a living force, on Earth as a dynamic element and, in the near future, the exhibition "Reading the Stars" shall invoke diverse ways of seeing the universe. We see ourselves as directly connected by curiosity. Art, therefore, with its incredible variety of concepts and materials, is taken as a vehicle for social and cultural development. Art is, in the end, for the World.
